Launch of Facebook’s IPO

Today was a very important day in the history of Facebook.  Today was the launch of the Facebook IPO (Facebook Initial Public Offering) meaning that we can all buy a little part of Facebook now, if you really want to.  Facebook will be trading under the simple FB.  Apparently it has been  forecasted that each share in Facebook would be priced at $38 (£24) each. The company is offering 421.2 million shares of common A-class stock for all of you to buy.  Last night the Facebook crew had a hackathon and all-night celebration as they are now trading on the stock-market.

The IPO values Facebook at $104 billion which isn’t too bad for a company founded in a dorm room at Harvard University.

Facebook co-founder and main man Mark Zuckerberg rang the bell this morning to open the NASDAQ opening Facebook shares to the public.

Hurry up and buy because there are only 421.2 million shares for you to buy.
