37 years ago our forefathers…

No, this is not a messed up version of Abraham Lincoln’s famous speech, the Gettysburg Address.

37 years ago today, Microsoft was established by Mr. Bill Gates and Mr. Paul Allen. Although I hate to admit it (after a few posts you will find out I am an Apple Fan-boy) Microsoft did dominate the whole Operating System market in the 1980s and 1990s. They also came up with some other very popular ideas such as the X-Box, MSN and of course the modern-day Windows Phone OS.

What I am really trying to say here is congratulations Microsoft for surviving for 37 years!

  1. Okay so you’re not a fan of PC’s, however I’m a fan of multiplatform, that is, every OS has a purpose, for example, the OSX is nippy and clean so that graphic intensive programs run quickly and easily, Win7 is great for programming quickly and easily and offers a reasonable price and Linux comes along for free if you’re willing to do a little tweaking to get it running well. But its all about choice, and in the computer realm, I don’t think there’s a right or wrong

    • Fair point Paul I was just saying that Wndows did do some good in what they have done but I still believe that OSX is the ultimate and Linux is very good also. Microsoft are definately not as big as they used to be and the other OS’ are now growing a lot more rapidly, especially OSX.
